Student Activities
Assemblies
Assemblies are held for the children
throughout the school year. The assemblies are planned in conjunction
with the principal, faculty, and the PTG with a focus on education.
Conduct at assemblies and other school sponsored events is to be
appropriate to the nature of the activity. At assemblies the only
acceptable demonstration of appreciation is clapping. Shouting and
whistling are never appropriate. Do not talk while the program is in
progress.
Awards Assembly
An Awards Assembly is held at the end of each quarter. At this time,
students in grades 5 to 8 are honored for the following:
- Perfect Attendance
- Honor Roll
- Participation in service projects outside the
school
- Participation in academic activities outside of
school
- Participation in service activities with in the
school
- Participation is school sponsored athletic
events
- Academic Improvement within a quarter (starting
with the 2nd quarter)
Honor Roll and High
Honor Roll
The honor roll is based on a 4 point system. Those students earning
a 3.0 to a 3.4 QPA merit Honors. Those earning a 3.5 to 4.0 merit High
Honors. The subjects considered in determining students’ QPA are:
Religion, Mathematics, Reading, English, Science, and Social Studies.
For 7th and 8th grade students, French is included. In addition to
earning the fore mentioned QPA’s students must maintain a ‘C’ grade or
better in all other classes to be eligible for Honor Roll.
Academic Improvement
This award is given to students who bring up one letter grade at
least one subject without going down in any other subject. This begins
with the 2nd quarter.
