Dress Code

St. Rosalia Academy is a Catholic elementary school which maintains the right to establish a uniform dress code for its students. It is recognized that proper school attire and good grooming are conducive to a student’s educational and social development. The Dress Code was developed:

  1. To promote Christian atmosphere
  2. To free children for academic concentration
  3. To de-emphasize competition among students regarding clothing
  4. To allow more economical dress for school
  5. To provide some choice to accommodate individual differences

Girls Dress Code

Navy Blue /Kaki Dress Slacks
Navy Blue / Kaki Walking Shorts
Navy / Plaid Skorts
White / Blue/ Red Polo Shirt (Shirts must have collars)
Solid colored White or Navy Socks
Navy Blue or school sweatshirts may be worn as needed.
Turtle necks are part of the winter uniform only (Nov. 1 to Apr. )
No make-up / No dangling ear rings / No sleeveless shirts

Grades 5 to 8
Dress slacks, walking shorts or skort must be worn.

Grades 1 to 4
Plaid jumper, skirt or skort may be worn. Starting 2003 - 04 school year Grade 4 and up will only be permitted to wear slacks, walking shorts or skort.

Boys Dress Code

Navy Blue / Kaki Dress slacks - dockers are permitted
Navy Blue / Kaki walking shorts
Pants are worn at the waist / No earrings
Navy blue or school sweatshirts may be worn as needed.
Turtle necks are part of the winter uniform only. (Nov. 1 to Apr.)

Grades 1 to 6
Blue / White / Red shirts with a collar

Grades 7 to 8
Blue / White Dress shirt. Dress shirt is one designed to be worn with a tie.
Tie - solid color. Ties are knotted at the collar.

Gym Uniform Boys and Girls

Solid colored navy blue shorts, sweat pants

Gold / White / Navy T-shirt or other school t-shirts

No snap or button down pants

No musical shoes

Dress shoes worn on non-gym days.

Dress Down Day for Boys and Girls

For Dress Down Days, students need to be mindful of the Catholic philosophy of our school. No sleeveless tops, no halter tops, no offensive sayings or designs on shirts - as determined by teachers or principal.
