Saint Rosalia Academy offers an After School Care Program from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The program begins the first day of school. It is open to children from kindergarten through eighth grade. There is time set aside for homework, snacks, outdoor and indoor recreation, games and other projects.

 Please take the time to read the following procedures for our After School Program.

1. Children will be released to parents only, unless designated in writing by parent(s) as to who has permission to pick up the child(ren).

2. We will be following the school calendar. There will not be After School Care on early dismissal days: as it is not cost effective.

3. The afternoon snack is .50 cents per day, per child. If for any reason your child can not have or does not want the snack or drink, you can pay for just the snack (.25 cents per day) or just the drink (.25 per day). If you are going to do this please let workers know on the schedule which one the child is to get (the drink or the snack). Also, there is a Pepsi machine in the After School room (.60 cents). If your child wishes to buy a pop from the machine he/she must bring .60 cents in change, the machine does not take dollar bills and the workers don’t always have change.

5. Our hours run from the close of school until 6:00 PM. Promptly. When making out your schedule please use the start time of 2:30 PM.

6. PREPAYMENT IS REQUIRED. A bi-monthly schedule MUST be completed and turned in two weeks prior to need, along with payment. The charge will be $3.00 per hour/per child; $2.00 per hour/per each additional child per family. No refunds can be given. EXAMPLE: If you use the service for 3 hours for one child the charge is $9.00. If you use the service for 2 ½ hours the charge is still $9.00.

7. There will be a $2.00 per minute late charge for every minute after 6:00 PM your children are not picked up. You will be expected to pay any late time at our regular rate prior to 6:00 PM.

8. WE MUST HAVE ADVANCE SCHEDULING TO PROPERLY PREPARE FOR THE CHILDREN.

9. Make checks payable to ST. ROSALIA AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM. Your cancelled check is your receipt. If any check is returned to us from the bank you will be required to pay us all service charges rendered.

10. Any schedule change where the child is not in school MUST be called into the After School Program between the hours of 8 AM and 1 PM. By calling (412) 421-8385 and leaving a message. This call is to be made so that we know not to expect your child that particular day. Once again, do not call the school office in regards to this program. We must know which children to expect daily, therefore if we have not been notified of a change and your child is not accounted for, we will be calling you at work. We ask this out of concern for you children. You may be aware of their safety, but there is no way we can know of their safety unless you tell us. Only cooperation will prevent this problem from occurring. Also, if someone has to stop and call you, it is taking precious time away from the children in the program.

11. The program is held on the first floor of the middle school building. When coming to pick up your child(ren), please use the old preschool entrance off Greenfield Avenue. For the children’s safety, all the doors will be locked so you will need to walk down Greenfield Avenue past the school doors and look for us in the After School Program windows. We will have your child ready to leave and be looking for you at the time you have indicated on the schedule. For this reason, please be on time.
